Time to start sending hearts to everyone!
People who send a lot of emojis go on dates and have sex more often. This was discovered by scientists from the Kinsey Institute—an American research institution that studies human sexuality.
How often people use emojis affects sexual activity at many stages of romantic relationships. A connection can be traced in how often people go on second dates, kiss, have sex, and enter into committed relationships.
“We found that with the help of emojis, people can convey important emotional information to potential partners, and because of this, it becomes easier to establish a successful intimate connection and find more opportunities for developing romantic and sexual relationships.”
Out of the five thousand people who participated in the study, 86.8% identified as heterosexual, and 62.2% were of Caucasian descent. However, the scientists did not identify a direct cause-and-effect relationship here. They were also unable to specify which emojis are effective for strengthening relationships and which are not.
