During a fight, our body releases a host of negative emotions, attacking its opponent. Of course, a fight is an expression of aggression, and sex has always been associated with such feelings. After all, even if you look at animals, the most aggressive and powerful males have a greater chance of contact with a female for reproduction. As a result, during a fight, people experience strong emotions that begin to awaken desire and arousal. A quarreling couple may sincerely and deeply hate each other at this point, but at some point, a basic natural instinct can take over.
Couples who argue and yell at each other aren’t always a sign of a bad relationship. In some cases, such conflict can bring these people back to a healthy balance. The more emotional and open partner will be able to fully express all their pent-up feelings, while the phlegmatic partner will be charged with this energy and experience desire and craving. Furthermore, during a fight, the couple ceases to be one on an emotional level. During a conflict, we distance ourselves from the other person and make them our adversary, thus making them a stranger, which brings a sense of novelty to the relationship, which always excites her more and awakens her desires.
During conflicts, a person opens up completely. Their partner can see all their feelings in their true light and discover what they’ve been thinking about all this time. This creates new sensations. Furthermore, we display aggression, which may be lacking in everyday life. This not only helps provide emotional release and relieve stress, but also arouses your partner with your zeal. Women especially enjoy it when their partner displays a certain amount of aggression during sex; this is all due to natural instinct, but it’s important to remember your limits.
Reasons for having sex after a fight

So, there can be several reasons for quarrels before sex:
- A way to distance yourself from each other —an argument is a subconscious way to alienate your partner, making them seem like a stranger. At this point, someone close to you becomes a stranger, while sex with a new partner always brings new sensations. This method is most often used by men. They distance themselves from a woman so they can relate the passion and emotion they once had when he conquered her again.
- Nero’s syndrome is a name associated with the Emperor Nero, who used to scold his wife and concubines to achieve arousal. Sexual arousal goes hand in hand with aggression, and some men (about 10%) require additional stimulation for a full erection, as adrenaline is released into the bloodstream at that moment. Thus, for some men and sometimes women, sex and arguing go hand in hand, and these emotions act like Viagra.
- A way to release tension – sex after an argument can be a way for some to let off steam. This happens when one partner is more temperamental. During sex, they don’t get what they want and may therefore provoke an argument, thus reducing their desire. This calms them down and allows the calmer partner to reawaken their emotions. All this happens subconsciously, so some never understand the reason for their outbursts and continue to cause arguments.
- A way to bond – in this case, partners only get closer. If misunderstandings or arguments are rare in a relationship, then a small argument will only refresh the relationship and bring people closer together, using sex during arguments as an opportunity to discuss problems. Make-up sex, if used only occasionally, will only benefit the couple.
Solving your problems through sex sounds great, but in reality, there’s nothing positive about it, especially if the argument stems from serious issues. You can ignore your problems and jump into bed, but the reality is that the problems remain and may soon resurface in a different light.
It can also happen that one or both partners become accustomed to being aroused only by arguments. This stimulation can’t be sustained for long, as everything eventually becomes boring, and soon this combination of sex and arguments can end tragically.
