One of the main advantages of sex is the charm of its spontaneity.

To experience intense emotions and physical pleasure, you usually don’t need to prepare yourself. Although sometimes it might be worth it: some annoying little things can ruin the atmosphere of passion in your bedroom.

Clutter in the bedroom

Can such nonsense dampen the passion? Yes! Scattered things not only spoil the look of the room, but they can also turn up at the wrong time—not necessarily right at hand.

Clean freaks will feel uneasy amidst disorder. If it’s your own bedroom, the burning shame of a slight chaos will prevent you from relaxing. And if it’s someone else’s, your mind will be filled with the thought: “What a, what a slob, how did I manage to do this!”

Cold feet

A naked man storming a “bed of passion” in his socks has long been the subject of jokes. But a partner in socks is a lesser evil than one with very cold feet.

Firstly, it’s distracting. Just try not to flinch when he accidentally touches your warm skin with an icy hand. Secondly, frozen lovers find it hard to be passionate and ardent.

A working TV

People who install a “talking box” against their headboard risk trading sex for television. At the end of a tiring day at work, it’s tempting to simply press the remote control and blissfully laze away, rather than exerting effort to give and receive pleasure.

Having the TV on can ruin intimacy. Imagine: you’re about to hit your stride, and suddenly your favorite talk show comes on. Are you sure you won’t get distracted? Just for a second, and your mood is already off.

Strong attachment to smartphone

It may seem unbelievable, but in nature there are people who allow the thought of answering a call or message during sex.

The bedroom is not an office: you don’t need to multitask here. When your brain is overloaded, it can’t “put aside” extraneous thoughts and switch to sex when needed. Before you go to bed, put your phone on silent mode.

Hygiene problems

Dirty sex is only good in the figurative sense. But there may be times when your partner suddenly gets really playful, and you realize you don’t have time to shower. And there are no intimate hygiene wipes on hand.

Pets that want attention

Owners often overindulge their pets, including allowing them to be present in the room or even on the bed during lovemaking. Unfortunately, banishing them from the bedroom doesn’t always help. Their howling at the door and attempts to sneak back in can be a significant distraction. But giving in and letting them in isn’t an option either: a cat or dog may immediately demand to be played with.

It’s a bit late to think about this if you’re already alone with your loved one and your pet is trying to sneak into your room. However, try to train your pet so it doesn’t consider itself the boss of the house.

The necessary attributes are not at hand

Frantically searching for contraceptives or sex gadgets can significantly dampen your desire. Your partner might also get bored while you’re engrossed in exploring the depths of your closet or nightstand, trying to find what you’re looking for.

It’s best to keep these items close to your bed, but locked away so that curious guests or children don’t find them.

Alcohol and temperament in food

Alcohol is believed to relax and make a person bolder. A glass of wine won’t hurt. But if you don’t measure it correctly, alcohol can act as an anesthetic. This means it can reduce sensitivity in certain parts of the body and impair coordination. Furthermore, your partner probably won’t appreciate the smell of wine on your breath.

A sense of proportion is also important when eating. A full stomach is unlikely to give you a boost of energy. Rather, you’ll feel less agile.

Stomach problems

If you’ve tried something exotic on a date, and at the most inopportune moment, it “asks” to be taken back, awkwardness is inevitable. In such a delicate situation, you want to feel as comfortable as possible.
