Why do you want to have sex in public places?
It’s incredibly exciting
The fear of being caught is a powerful aphrodisiac. There’s a physiological basis for this.
If we look at the two fundamental human instincts—survival and reproduction—arousal can be divided into two types. The first is arousal from danger, which triggers the “fight or flight” response. The second is sexual arousal, which prompts sex. These are two sides of the same coin, and our brains don’t always understand the difference.
Paul Dobransky, psychiatrist and author of “The Secret Psychology of How We Fall in Love,” for New York magazine
The two types of excitement combine to make sex with the risk of getting caught more exciting than ever.
This is a way to add variety to your relationship.
Having sex exclusively in the bedroom is like only doing it missionary style or only on Thursdays. Sooner or later, monotony gets boring, and couples look for ways to spice things up.
In this regard, intimate pleasures in a car are little different from sex on the kitchen table or, say, on a windowsill. The risk of being seen by an outside observer only intensifies the sensation.
This is perceived as a marker of personal freedom.
Break the rules, go beyond conventional categories, see the world from a new perspective, don’t be afraid to be yourself, and follow your passions. What else do all sorts of personal growth coaches and other trainers tell people?
However, it’s not as if the desire to break social taboos, including sexual ones, is a modern invention. One only needs to recall the hippie era with its concept of free love to stop being surprised by the tolerant attitude towards public sex.
This is one aspect of the new normal.
We live in a deeply public world, where it’s fashionable to put our experiences, fears, bodies, and even intimate details on public display. If you don’t believe me, check out YouTube, popular Instagram blogs, or online dating sites.
The logic is simple. If I can show my followers my cellulite because it’s natural, or, for example, defend women’s right to walk topless along seaside promenades, then why should I hide my sex life? It’s also completely natural.
Maybe it’s just part of human nature.
For example, voyeurism—an interest in discreetly spying on strangers during their intimate moments. Scientists haven’t determined the causes of this phenomenon, but they suggest that this type of curiosity is common among many and is generally considered normal.
The same applies to public sex. In Spain, for example, according to surveys, almost one in two people has engaged in sex in public places. In the US, according to various sources, between 22% and 57% of adults have engaged in dogging (slang for public sex) at least once.
Perhaps it’s because humanity as a species lived for millennia in close quarters—in small caves, where life, including sex, took place in full view. Civilization and the rules of propriety it created have certainly moderated this openness somewhat. But they haven’t eliminated it entirely.
What do you need to know before having sex in a public place
The desire to engage in public sex may be normal. But that doesn’t mean such intimacy is absolutely acceptable.
Here are some simple rules that will make your experience not only exciting, but also safe.
1. Remember that this may be illegal.
There’s no direct ban on sex in public places in Russian law. However, if passersby notice you and report it to the police, you could be charged with petty hooliganism under Article 20.1 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses for “disturbing public order, expressing clear disrespect for society.”
The fine for such a violation is up to 1,000 rubles. However, administrative arrest for up to 15 days is also possible.
Furthermore, if you choose a clearly inappropriate location for the games, such as a kindergarten or school, or if children are among the bystanders, administrative liability risks escalating into criminal liability for “committing indecent acts without the use of violence” under Article 135 of the Russian Criminal Code.
2. Choose your sex location wisely
According to a small survey conducted by the British medical resource Zava, the most popular locations for public sex are parks or wooded areas—one in four respondents preferred them. The top ten also included car interiors, beaches, movie theaters, store fitting rooms, and even swimming pool locker rooms.
You can certainly choose your own option. For example, an empty subway car or the restroom of a trendy restaurant.
Most importantly, keep the information outlined in the above paragraph in mind. Try to avoid being caught by people who might perceive your performance as a violation of public order, let alone debauchery.
3. Respect others
The rule of consent also applies to sex in public places. Random passersby didn’t consent to watching your passionate encounters. Respect their right not to see your intimate encounter. Simply put: be sure to think about how to make public sex as discreet as possible.
4. Choose appropriate clothing
It should serve two functions at once. First, it should be easy to remove (lift, slide). Second, you should be able to instantly return it to its place if necessary.
Dresses, skirts, and long tunics are best for women. For men, wear stretchy shorts or pants without belts, buttons, or zippers.
5. Take care of hygiene
You’ll definitely need dry and wet wipes. You’ll also need a bag to hold lubricant (it’s not guaranteed that a woman will produce lubrication quickly in a stressful situation) and condoms.
If you get too carried away during sex and leave wet marks, be sure to clean up after yourself. This is also a sign of respect for others.
